Our Head Chefs are our brand champions. They are uncompromising with our service standards and operate each shift to deliver an exceptional guest experience. A key part of their role is the training, development and recruitment of our friendly and knowledgeable team. Our Head Chefs have a wealth of knowledge and have a full understanding of how they can impact and drive world class results through well trained team.
Our Head Chef behaviours
Length – 6 weeks
Location – 2 weeks in a training site and 4 weeks in your destination site.
Your first day is completing that important paperwork with your General Manager, learning the culture and completing your own mystery diner. Within your first 4 weeks you will visit our Head Office to meet the team and have lunch with our founders Kris Gumbrell and Simon Bunn.
You will spend 2 weeks in a training site to experience life as a team member and immerse yourself in our brand.
Back in your own site you are tasked with learning our management systems and processes and how we operate Brewhouse and Kitchen on a day to day basis.
Ongoing learning and development
As a Head Chef at Brewhouse and Kitchen we offer a variety of courses for you to master your skills and develop towards the next step in your career. Some of our Head Chefs and Assistants will get the opportunity to develop through our Up! Management development program which is the equivalent to a diploma. We run these courses every year and it takes 14 months to complete. You must apply for this program and show us a commitment to developing themselves and a desire to progress within the industry. In our 2017 cohort 50% were promoted to more senior positions within the first 8 months of the completion of the program.
