Our Head Chefs are the leaders in our kitchens who manage their brigade exceptionally. A key part of your role is training & coaching your teams, to be the best they can be. You are friendly, approachable and understand that communication is key to all departments, especially your General Manager.
As a Head Chef in our Brewpubs, you’ll have the drive and determination to deliver an excellent service, every single day. Your main responsibilities include managing the food stock, ensuring safe working practices, you’ll also be managing the food safety regulations in your Brewpub kitchen by leading your team correctly. You’ll take a front foot in the preparation and cooking of our menu, ensuring it leaves the kitchen to perfect specification.

Your Day One will be with a member of the People Team, who will guide you through the first steps of becoming a part of B&K. You’ll talk through the first 4 weeks, including a specifically designed Workbook and Learning Path via the B&K Learning Hub for your role (which includes nationally recognised Food Safety training). There will be around one week of training off-site, with one of our Senior Head Chefs in their kitchen, where you’ll be fully immersed in our brand and understanding the basics and specifications. The Senior Head Chef will become your buddy, who will visit your Brewpub kitchen to assist in the systems training. The induction culminates in booking onto a free Brewery Experience Day, where you’ll make one of our in-house brewed beers with your Brewer!
We’ll check in with you on Week 4, 9 and 15 with a BrewChat, which is an opportunity to speak with your General Manager about your progress and aspirations – including the chance to register your interest in one of our many Kitchen Apprenticeship programmes. This is a great way to progress your career to the upper echelon, delving deep into your passion for food!

Founded in 2013, by co-founders Kris & Simon, B&K is a blend of Great British Pubs with US-inspired hospitality and beer culture. We have open fires, cask ales and Sunday Roasts – but we also have quirky industrial décor, an eclectic range of guest beers and home-style BBQ dishes.
We are unique whereby we brew beer on-site, delivering an experience to the senses with the smells, sights and tastes. All happening whilst the Brewpubs are open for business, full of our team and guests. There’s not many places where you can drink a beer and watch it be created in front of your eyes too.
